CompactCopters is a drone-specialized technical-consulting and project-management team from Germany.
The collaboration began with “Newton’s Duet” (2015) , where CompactCopters took up on the technical development and took the first steps on a journey of discovery between man and machine.
During the follow-up project “Airman” (2018) , several teams of specialists were brought together, under the technical leadership of CompactCopters, to enable the dream of the drone dancer.
In the latest partner project“AI-Man” (2020) CompactCopters strives to give “Airman“ its own will with the help of modern AI algorithms.

Introdans gives a contemporary interpretation to ballet in a creative, surprising way. In a swirling, defying gravity kind of way, Introdans takes everyone along in the total experience of dance.
The relationship between Another Kind of Blue and Introdans goes back a long way. In 2006 Introdans included David Middendorp’s work Bread-peace in its repertoire and in 2008 he created Blue Journey especially for Introdans. In 2017 Middendorp made a new piece for Introdans “Painting“, which in 2017 and 2018 was part of the family show ‘So You Think You Can Stoelendans’.

Dutch Tilt Studios is a Dutch animation company, specialized in animation film production.
ince our participation in Britain’s Got Talent, Dutch Tilt Studios has been involved in the animation production of Another Kind of Blue. When creating new animations or adjusting and improving existing ones, the three gentlemen of Dutch Tilt Studios are always there to help us out, accompanied by a great deal of enthusiasm!

AtAvionics Control Systems, the design and production of “the brain” and the intelligence of drones are central: the autopilots. The development of drone technology and the creation of a patented autopilot is one of their highest research goals.
During our Airman project, Avionics will focus on the communication between the drones and the coding of Sioux Lime.

Sioux wants to contribute to a safe, healthy and sustainable world by means of technological innovation. Sioux relieves high-tech companies in developing and building smart modules by supplying hardware, software and mathware.
Since the start of the Airman project, we got in touch with Sioux. Together with partners Luchtzinnig and Avionics Sioux is working on the duet between dancer and drones. In this, Sioux-Lime is responsible for the design and implementation of dance-facilitating algorithms for a collection of drones.

Luchtzinnig specialises not only in aerial photography and aerial video productions, but also in the development and construction of custom flying structures.
For several times already Luchtzinnig has been involved in the projects of Another Kind of Blue. They made for example drone recordings of The Netherlands and the South of France, which were later incorporated into the animations of Flyland. But also during Newton’s Duet and Airman they played a major role in supplying and preparing the drones with which the dancers danced a duet. They will continue to play this important role in Airman‘s follow-up project, AI-Man.
