Another Kind of Blue
Mission + -

Another Kind of Blue (AKOB) creates dance performances in which choreography and technology from one artistic concept merge into an integrated whole. Choreographies that inspire and challenge to reflect on a technology-controlled world.

It is important that these choreographies are accessible and are able to reach a large and diverse audience. From young to old and from the ardent dance lover to people who encounter dance for the first time. In addition, AKOB develops and implements new technology for the dance and theater world.

Vision + -

In his performances David Middendorp takes you into a magical and wonderful world. Fascinated by the enormous acceleration that technological development has undergone and its all-determining character, he creates breathtaking new realities with the use of innovative techniques.

The confrontation between the researcher and the infinite possibilities of technology is the main theme of his work. Inexhaustible curiosity to explore and to understand the world is his main motivation as an artist. He approaches the world and technology with an open mind, full of wonder and desire. Dance is his artistic medium, with the moving dancer the symbol of the searching person.
